Profess- Placing Jesus on Your Ballot: How Faith Informs Politics
Our Speaker
This month we are excited to welcome Fr. Alfonse Nazarro to Prince of Peace to discuss “Putting Jesus on Your Ballot." Have you ever heard someone tell you that your faith should not influence the way you vote? Can we really separate being an American citizen from being a disciple of Christ? What should we as Catholics profess on a host of moral and political issues? Neither Jesus nor the Church is partisan, but do Catholics have a roadmap to navigate the many difficult sociopolitical issues we face today? Come join the discussion on these questions and more!
After graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with both a BS and MS in Engineering, Fr. Alfonse Nazzaro worked as a Quality Engineer for Eastman Kodak Company for nearly five years. It was around that time he felt the call to something more. He entered formation for the priesthood through the Legionaries of Christ, completing a BA in both Philosophy and Theology. He was ordained a priest in Rome 2003. For five years he was the Director of Formation at the Highlands School in Irving. It was during this time that he discerned a true passion for ministering to young people. He ultimately began the process of becoming a diocesan priest in 2010, serving as Parochial Vicar at multiple parishes and currently resides at All Saints Catholic Church in Dallas as Pastoral Administrator.
